MY PERSONAL TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My name is SP Sithole a first year student at UJ
Siyabuswa campus and doing Bed foundation phase, and am going to be a caring
and critical reflective teacher
My teaching philosophy is to prepare children for
the time when they have to go out on their own and make a living of what they
had during their childhood.
My teaching philosophy is self-reflective of my
belief about teaching and learning. My teaching will focus on each individual
needs child and their educational needs. My strategy is to help the children to
achieve their highest potential, I will also be parental involvement in the
children mental, physical and emotional development. I will accept the
challenges of being a parent, friend and a counsellor to the kids that I will
be teaching.
I will learn to know the uniqueness of each student
with his or her unique educational needs, I will be aware of the strengths and
weaknesses of each learner through continuous assessment and observations, then
once the strengths are recognised I will work together with the child and
challenge them and the weaknesses we will take care of them to meet these
challenges. I will express my opinions and desires strongly and with confident
in order to motivate the children and have the sense of understanding of the
difficulties they come across with.
I believe that children are unique individuals and
they deserve to be treated with care, love, and affection in a safe
environment, the teaching and learning progress individuals is suited in
learning.to facilitate the process of learning by leading discussions.
My role as a foundation phase teacher is to look the
best of the kids and to raise them so that they can become professionals and
pioneers for the society. I will give them love, respect, care, lead, instruct
and to try to form a safe and pleasant environment to them. Hence I believe
that teachers are the second best mothers for the learners, because they spend
lot of time with them at the same time I believe a real teacher becomes through
many years of training in the field of being a teacher, the same way mothers
are not born being great mothers but as their experiences with their kids
expand they become experts on the field, so I believe that I will become the
great teacher hence am also training to become the best teacher that I want to
become and the caring teacher hence I will be the foundation phase teacher.
So as a perfect qualified teacher I will know to set
up rules in the classroom that will make me to be able to control the
classroom. I will be involve with the learners, it will be the way to of
showing my concern about what the learners are feeling, I will get the learners
involve in the classroom by asking them questions hence this will be the way of
involving the shy learners who would love to participate in the classroom, and
to encourage them so that they can benefit.
I will create a warm and protective environment but
at the same time professionals hence if children feel secure in the classroom
the results will be good and a good star could be a mutual trust with each
learner, and as the teacher I have the responsibility of knowing all my
learners in the classroom.
Schools are the first places where kid’s behaviour
and future educational success is shaped, so as a future teacher I will carry
either positive or negative behaviour towards learners. I love my career so I
will be able to pass enthusiasm to assist and to provide warm environment to
the learners, I will care for children more than I do with the money so what is
going on in ma learners lives will also be part of my life, being a life-long
learner and enjoying helping others to the greater success.
An understanding of how learners will learn and the
concern for learners to learn and begin with a recognition that all learners
has their own learning needs and bringing their knowledge and resources to the
learning process, I will work with them in order to empower them and enable
them to develop greater capability and competences in their personal and
professional lives.
The role of the learner it is very important hence
without them there won’t be teachers so they need to involve themselves in
class activities, and they must support the teaching and learning.
I commit
myself to work with them and focuses on their equal opportunities irrespective
of disabilities, religions, sexual orientation, race or gender, so everything
that I will do will be informed by equal opportunities legislation by a
knowledge of the best practice.
I will reflect on my intentions and actions and on
the effects of my actions as a reflection on professional practice. Goo
teaching cannot happen without learners learning, so as a teacher I have to
engage all my learners by involving them while am teaching by asking them
questions so that will make them to participate and when you are participating
it become easier to understand and it will also be the other way of involving
those shy students who are shy or afraid to ask questions in the classroom when
they do not understand.
I am going to make a huge difference in our country,
I will pass my knowledge to the next generation.
